Despite a 72-hour curfew being imposed in Dunkirk, following Tuesday's mass shooting, gunmen again struck in the community on Wednesday morning, leaving a businessman dead.
The latest victim is 56-year-old Vindle Harvey Clarke, a resident of Bray Street.
Mr. Clarke was fatally shot at his home about 7:00 a.m.
Investigators say the businessman was sweeping the roadway immediately in front of his home when he was pounced upon by a group of about five men armed with guns.
The men opened gunfire on Mr. Clarke, killing him on the spot.
Wednesday morning's incident followed a series of deadly attacks in the division over the last week, including Tuesday's mass shooting at a market on Pine Street in which one man was killed and seven others shot and wounded.
