Cabinet is to receive a report on the progress of the restoration effort being undertaken by the Jamaica Public Service Company particularly in Clarendon Manchester and St Elizabeth.

Those parishes were hardest hit during the passage of Hurricane Beryl.

Energy Minister Daryl Vaz says he has been in touch with the light and power company which has made significant progress in the repair and restoration work.

"There has been significant work done between my visist on Wednesday and now, and what I'm pushing for is to move away from the percentages, so when JPS says they are 95% or 96%, that makes the numbers look good. But the bottom line is that there is thousands of persons across Jamaica that don't have light," he said.
