Caribbean Cement reports improved supply after weather disruption

 

Caribbean Cement Company says cement supply has improved by more than 20 per cent in recent weeks, following operational challenges caused by heavy rainfall in April. 

 

The company reports that cement production has now surpassed 475,000 metric tonnes, representing a 50 per cent increase over the previous year. 

 

Managing Director Jorge Martinez says the company is maintaining steady supply and implementing measures to improve reliability and meet strong market demand. 

 

"During April and May 2026, CCCL increased production by more than 50 per cent, enhancing customer dispatches by over 23 per cent, driving even greater sales with about 111,000 metric tonnes. That's surpassing a previous high of 108,500 metric tonnes that occurred in March 2021 during COVID-19," he reported.

 

Caribbean Cement added that a total 23,852 metric tonnes of cement was received in May through the Cemex trading network to reinforce its supply programme.
