Full operations and banking services are expected to resume at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank on Tuesday after bank employees who took industrial action Monday morning, agreed to end their protest.

The workers are represented by the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU).

BITU President General Senator Kavan Gayle told Radio Jamaica News that the union and the bank's management are to meet at the Ministry of Labour at 2 p.m. Tuesday in a bid to end the impasse.

"And so, the workers, in order not to continue to inconvenience the customers, will resume their duties tomorrow. And we hope and anticipate that some meaningful discussions will take place at the Ministry of Labour. But this is an action that is in an effort to create a balance between the workers and their own well-being whilst managing the experience of customer service and support," said Senator Gayle.

The bank employees took industrial action to press the management to address staff challenges and hazardous working conditions.

The bank expressed disappointment with the action of the employees which resulted in a restriction of banking services.
