Clarendon-based primary school suffers break-in

 

 

The administration of Park Hall Primary and Infant School is expressing disappointment with the latest break-in at the Clarendon-based institution.

 

Chairman of the school, Karen Carty, said the principal notified the school board of the break-in on Tuesday morning.

 

School is currently closed for the summer recess.

 

The padlock on the Grade Four classroom was damaged, however nothing appeared to have been stolen.

 

Ms. Carty said it is believed that the perpetrator is from the Park Hall community. 

 

"It is not what I think should be happening based on the community.... [It's] mainly persons that live in the area [whose] children [attend] the school. So the school actually is a community based school... and for persons to be breaking into the school, it is very bad. And I am not going to accept something like this...going on," said the chairman.

 

She has appealed to the Ministry of Education to assist with the implementation of a security system at the school.
