Donald Trump and Kamala Harris faced off in their first debate on Tuesday night.
In a CNN/SSRS snap poll of 600 registered voters who watched the presidential debate on Tuesday night, 63 per cent said Kamala Harris was the better performer while 37 per cent went with Donald Trump in their race for the White House.
Prior to the debate, the same voters were evenly split on who they thought would perform best.
The current figures do not necessarily translate to votes.
Only 4 per cent said the debate changed their minds about who they might vote for.
The public will need to wait a few days until the bigger national and state-level polls reflect any changes based on Tuesday night's performances.
The polls have been tight between Ms. Harris and Mr. Trump leading up to the debate.
