Skeletal remains suspected to be that of dancehall artiste Stephanie Williams, otherwise called Medikk, were found on Wednesday in a cane field in Wallen, St. Catherine.
Ms. Williams, who is of Mayfair, Red Hills Road in St. Andrew, was reported missing on August 24 last year.
The police launched a probe into a missing persons report and possible murder following her disappearance.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey said several people were questioned in relation to the disappearance of Ms. Williams.
DCP Bailey said the police will be conducting tests on the skeletal remains to determine the victim's identity.
"The body will be processed and compared with DNA sample to determine the true identity. The investigation continues in the matter."
He appealed for anyone with information that could assist to the police, to call 119, 311 or the nearest police station.
