Cops on high alert in Kingston Western Police division

Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in the Kingston Western Police Division have been placed on high alert.

This follows a recent National Intelligence Bureau report that gunmen based in West Kingston are planning attacks against JCF members in the division.

The intelligence report claimed that two criminal gangs have issued death threats against three cops assigned to the West Kingston Police Division. 

According to the bulletin, a copy of which was obtained by RJR News, members of the reputed Fatherless and Socks Gangs based in Rema and Trench Town are planning to kill a Sergeant  and two Constables. 

It is said that the lawmen are among JCF personnel who have been involved in constant operations aimed at disrupting the gangs' activities.

Members of the Fatherless and Socks Gangs have been linked to major crimes in west Kingston, including extortion, contract killing and robberies. 

The intelligence report noted that based on the threats being issued, members of the two gangs need to be urgently sought out, apprehended and strongly warned against carrying out the threats.
