A couple was held at gunpoint and robbed of a large sum of cash at their home in Sturge Town, near Brown's Town, St. Ann on the weekend.
The thieves also withdrew an additional $2 million from the bank accounts of the businessman and his partner.
It's reported that between 11 p.m. Saturday and 4 a.m. on Sunday, the home of the couple was invaded by two masked men armed with guns.
The men entered the living room and pounced on the woman, who was able to run to a bedroom.
However, after discharging a bullet inside the house, the robbers kicked in the door to the room and proceeded to rob the businessman and his partner of money and their bank cards.
They were not harmed.
Later Sunday morning, they were alerted to the withdrawal of over $2 million from their bank accounts.
In another incident early Monday morning, two security guards were robbed of their electronic devices at a guesthouse in Shaw Park, Ocho Rios, St. Ann.
The thieves also made off with the bank card of one of the guards.
It's reported that about 1 a.m., a security guard was on the verandah of the guesthouse when he was approached by two men in masks, armed with handguns.
He was ordered to lie on the floor and was robbed of a Samsung tablet, laptop and bank card.
The guard was then taken inside to another room, where the second guard was robbed of two cellular phones.
The thieves escaped from the compound on foot.
