Oswald Maxwell, 32, otherwise called ‘Rassie’, a labourer of Hampton district, Porus, Manchester was shot dead on Thursday night.
Another man was injured in the incident which took place on the Porus main road.
Information from the Mandeville police is that both men were at a shop just before nine o'clock when two men approached them.
One of the men opened fire hitting both of them.
They were taken to hospital where Mr. Maxwell died and the other man treated.
