Fire razed a building which housed the Eagles Drum and Bugle Corps on the premises of the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Downtown, Kingston late Saturday.
Beres Benloss of the Rollington Town Fire Station, said the team responded to a fire alert shortly after 8 pm.
No one was injured in the fire.
The origin of the blaze is yet to be determined.
“Well there are conflicting stories but I can tell you as a fact that there was no electricity in the building so it wouldn’t have been as a result of that . The building is pretty old, so any spark of any sort would have set it off, so we can only speculate,” Benloss said.
Clifton Lumsden ,Director of the Eagles Drum and Bugle Corps says the loss includes J$20 million in equipment for the band which has over 120 players.
The building was not insured.
