A member of the Jamaica Fire Brigade who was arrested last week in connection with the murder of his mother-in-law, has been charged.
He is 40-year-old Dwayne Simpson of Carlton Mountain in Claremont, St. Ann.
Mr. Simpson was charged on the weekend for the murder of 63-year-old Maxine Parkinson, of Archer Hill district in Claremont.
The body of Ms. Parkinson was found in bushes in Nine Palm district last Wednesday, two days after she went missing.
The body had chop wounds.
Following an investigation, the firefighter was taken into custody.
Investigators say a machete believed to be the murder weapon was found in his vehicle.
It's further alleged that bloodstains were also found in the vehicle.
