The Flash Flood Watch has been extended for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St. Mary, Portland, St. Thomas, Kingston, St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon, and Manchester until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
The Meteorological Service says the broad Trough across the central Caribbean continues to produce unstable weather across Jamaica.
Light to moderate showers, and isolated thunderstorms have occurred primarily across eastern and south-central parishes throughout Sunday night and into Monday morning.
This activity is forecast to continue throughout Monday.
The Met Service says given soil saturation levels, due to increased rainfall over the last few days especially across eastern parishes, flooding may be possible even during periods of light showers.
Sea conditions will also deteriorate in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.
Fishers and other marine interests, especially inshore and offshore the south coast, should therefore exercise caution.
