46-year-old businesswoman Beverly White, the wife of
People's National Party (PNP) Candidate for West Central St. Catherine, Homer
White, is in hospital in critical condition.
It is reported that shortly after 7 o'clock Thursday night Mrs. White drove up to a friend's house in Green Acres near the Dovecot Memorial Park and was shot several times by gunmen.
She was taken to hospital where she underwent emergency surgery before being admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit.
No motive has been established for the attack.
Mr. White who represented the PNP in the September 3 General Election was defeated by Dr. Ken Baugh.
