George Lyn - former PNP Member of Parliament is dead

George Lyn, the former People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament for the constituency of North Central Clarendon , died in the May Pen Hospital on Wednesday after a long illness.

Lyn, 81, suffered a stroke four years ago and had a heart attack about two weeks ago.

In announcing his passing in a release on Wednesday, the PNP saluted Lyn, stating that he was very well loved by the constituents of North Central and often solved their problems using his personal resources.

He was recently honoured by the PNP as one of the parliamentarians who had served during the 75 years of the party's existence.

The constituency executive said it is saddened by his passing and extends to his widow and children its deepest condolences and assures them of its prayers and support.

The executive also said appropriate ways will be found to perpetuate Mr. Lyn's memory.
