The Industrial Disputes Tribunal has handed down a multi million dollar award against St Ann based hotel Moon Palace Jamaica.
The IDT awarded American national Severin Alba US$230,000 after determining that his dismissal was unjustifiable.
Mr Alba, who was employed as a sales agent, said he was advised that his employment was being terminated with immediate effect after a disagreement with his manager.
The Company contended that Mr Alba voluntarily resigned from his employment and entered into an agreement with the hotel, in which he confirmed his decision to accept payment of future commissions and agreed terms and conditions.
The IDT found that there was no due process involving the termination of Mr Alba 's employment, rendering the decision without justification.
