A crime scene investigator on Thursday testified that there were no traces of blood or DNA at a car wash where Noel Maitland brought a sofa to be cleaned.
Two deliverymen have previously testified that Mr. Maitland arranged for the movement of the sofa first from his Chelsea Manor apartment to the car wash, then to an upholstery business in downtown Kingston.
A car wash employee had also testified that she observed what appeared to be blood seeping from the sofa on July 13, 2022.
The witness recalled seeing "blood like rice grain" and claimed it emitted a distinct raw scent.
Describing the scene and detailing the items she used to conduct her analysis, the investigator said nothing was observed.
Mr. Maitland is on trial for the disappearance and alleged murder of his girlfriend, social media influencer, Donna-Lee Donaldson.
She was last seen on July 11, 2022 after Mr. Maitland reportedly picked her up from her home.
Ms. Donaldson was reported missing two days later.
Mr. Maitland is charged with murder and preventing the lawful burial of a corpse.
