A man said to be a campaign worker for Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for North West St. Catherine, Dr. Sandra Nesbeth, was fatally shot Thursday evening in front of the constituency office in Linstead.
He has been identified as 27-year-old Vincent Beecher of Job Lane in Spanish Town.
Dr. Nesbeth says the man was shot while sitting in a campaign vehicle.
"We have training for the workers every evening. Everybody was outside because my father was just about to start the training," said Dr. Nesbeth.
"So everybody was outside and watching the van coming down, saw when this guy came out of the constituency office, came down, as soon as the guy came out of the van the guy just came up and pumped four shots into him and said an expletive ‘Labourite, yu fi dead' and then just ran straight down to Grove Road," she said.
The Linstead Police confirmed the shooting.
