Gia Abraham, CEO of CAC 2000
Air conditioning system supplier, CAC 2000 has taken issue with a claim by Health Minister & Wellness Minister Dr Christopher Tufton that the local representatives didn't have the capacity to repair AC units at Kingston Public Hospital.
The AC Units went out of service on February 11.
A section of the system was repaired on February 18 and full restoration took place on Thursday.
The malfunctioning AC units affected operations at Accident & Emergency, Main Operating Theatre, Recovery Room, and the Intensive Care Unit at KPH.
Dr Tufton, Speaking Friday on Radio Jamaica's Hotline, said the delay in fixing the AC units resulted from the service provider, CAC 2000, facing challenges.
But Chief Executive Officer of CAC 2000 Gia Abraham responded that the challenges experienced had nothing to do with the company's incompetence.
She explained that the issue on that particular AC unit at KPH required dialogue with the manufacturers.
Mrs Abraham told Radio Jamaica News that her technicians are well experienced in carrying out such repairs.
