Members of the public are being advised to be on the alert for the unauthorised and fraudulent use of the image of Labour Minister Pearnel Charles Jr by two TikTok accounts to promote an alleged overseas employment scam.
The Ministry of Labour & Social Security says the accounts use the handles @abbcore_travel and @purpose_travel_agents.
It says the TikTok pages falsely state that they are authorised to provide overseas employment opportunities. They use repurposed videos from the ministry's website and the minister's image, to deceive and mislead the public.
The Ministry says it has received reports that these fraudulent actors are circulating deceptive advertisements preying on Jamaicans seeking legitimate employment opportunities abroad.
