The Ministry of Education has appointed Laurette Adams Thomas as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA).
The announcement comes after former head, Rosalee Gage-Grey, was separated from the post following a damning report by the Office of the Children's Advocate.
Mrs. Gage-Grey's departure coincided with the probe into the agency's relationship with Carl Robanske - head of the United States-based non-profit foundation, Embracing Orphans - who was sanctioned in the US for inappropriate interactions with minors.
Michelle Mcintosh Harvey was appointed to act as Chief Executive Officer following the departure of Mrs. Gage Grey.
Mrs. Adams Thomas previously served as general manager of the largest infirmary in the Caribbean, the Golden Age Home.
She also functioned as interim executive director of the National Children's Registry.
The ministry in May, had promised a new appointee to the role.
