Princess Margaret Hospital in St. Thomas is slated to benefit from a major investment in the 2025-2026 financial year.
According to Wentworth Charles, Chairman of the South East Regional Health Authority, major projects to be undertaken include an upgrade to dietary services, expansion of existing facilities, installation of a 150,000-gallon water tank and the upgrade of housing accommodations for nurses and senior medical residents.
Mr Charles says the recent acquisition of medical equipment, such as a digital X-ray machine, has strengthened the hospital's capacity to provide quality care.
The SERHA Chairman says the Regional Authority is committed to ensuring that Princess Margaret Hospital not only meets but exceeds future healthcare demands, positioning it as a model of excellence and innovation in the region.
In collaboration with 17 health centres, the hospital provides comprehensive services, ranging from general medicine to specialized surgical care, for St. Thomas, parts of St. Andrew, and Portland
