Detectives of the Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) have laid charges against a 33-year-old Orlando Grant, otherwise called 'Rufus', in connection with an April 2022 triple murder in Morgan Lane, Grants Pen, St. Andrew.
Acting Superintendent Randy Sweeney, head of the St. Andrew North Police Division, says Grant was charged on Wednesday.
Grant, who is also called 'Glasses', is a reputed gang leader based in Grants Pen.
He was captured on Easter Monday during a police operation.
Investigators say he was behind the April 2022 attack on Morgan Lane in which three people were killed by gunmen. Those killed were 42-year-old Joseph Smith of Morgan Lane, 44-year-old Bamsha Miller of Morgan Lane, and 39-year-old Kevin Eddie, of a Seaview Gardens address.
Investigators had reported that Miller was a reputed area leader and that the attack was linked to an inter-gang conflict.
Grant is still under investigation for other serious crimes.
