Finance Minister Audley Shaw says the merger of three state-run regulators of the gaming industry is expected to be completed within six months.

The Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC), Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC), and the Casino Gaming Commission (CGC) - are being combined to form the new Jamaica Gaming Commission.

The Commission will serve as the Government’s main advisory and regulatory body on gaming.

The move is part of the Government’s public sector transformation programme.

Mr. Shaw said he has issued instructions for JRC and CGC personnel to be relocated to the BGLC’s headquarters on Hagley Park Road in St. Andrew.

"So the physical movement has started," he said, noting that legislative and other actions are still ongoing to complete the merger.
