The Met Service has downgraded the Flash Flood Warning to a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St. Mary, Portland, St. Thomas, St. Andrew, Kingston, St. Catherine and Clarendon, effective until 5 p.m., today.
Additionally, it has discontinued the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of all other parishes effective immediately.
The broad Trough across the western Caribbean continues to produce a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms across the region, including Jamaica.
The forecast is for periods of light to moderate showers and thunderstorms to continue mainly across eastern and south-central parishes this morning.
Consequently, due to the extensive rainfall over the last few days, there remains the possibility for flash flooding to occur even during periods of light to moderate showers.
