Work crews from the National Works Agency have cleared a massive landslide along the Junction main road, on the border of St. Mary and St. Andrew.
Large boulders blocked the main road on Friday morning rendering the roadway at Toms River impassable.
NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw said a team from the National Works Agency was mobilised to clear the roadway.
"We have made some progress in respect of the road through the Junction, the area on the border of St. Mary and St. Andrew. That area has been fully reopened. We have removed all the material from the road," he said.
However, the entity continues to work to clear other landslides in St. Mary, including further along the Junction road in Broadgate.
"The material keeps coming down onto the road and that area remains single lane, but the work continues. We are also working along the Camberwell Road. That's the long road. That one has been reopened to single lane. The cleaning and clearing activities will continue tomorrow," he promised.
In Portland, the NWA has reinstated the approach roads to the ford at Craig Mill.
Heavy showers in the eastern end of the island have resulted in landslides and breakaways in St. Mary and Portland.
