Plane returns safely to Norman Manley Int'l Airport, after smoke was detected onboard

The Jamaica Fire Brigade has confirmed that it received a distress call from the Norman Manley International Airport this morning about smoke coming from a section of an airplane.

Emilio Ebanks, the Brigade's Public Relations Officer, told RJR News that the emergency call indicated that the plane was airborne when smoke was seen coming from it.

Mr. Ebanks said his information was that the plane returned to the airport where it landed safely.
