Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has pushed back against the findings of the recent Don Anderson polls, which indicated that one in three Jamaicans say they cannot identify a single area they believe the administration has excelled in since 2020.

The findings are from the latest RJRGLEANER-commissioned Don Anderson poll conducted between May 16 and June 7.

Dr. Holness, addressing supporters in St. Mary earlier this week, defended his administration's track record and has called for voters to choose wisely when they go to the polls.

He said his governing Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) will be conducting its own polls.

"However, there is an interesting figure which is saying that a third of Jamaicans can't point to anything, paraphrasing, that the present government has done. That's one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is that two-thirds of the Jamaicans would have seen the incredible impact of the Jamaica Labour Party policies. And those who don't see it are those who essentially refuse to acknowledge," he argued.

Of the 1,033 people surveyed, aged 18 years and older, 29.2% said 'nothing', 'don't know' or 'not sure' when asked what they would say the government has done well during its term of office since 2020.

That was followed by 19.8% of participants who said improved infrastructure; 10.1% who said increased or improved social benefits, including the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH) and National Insurance Scheme (NIS) benefits; 9.2% cited the government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic; and 5.7% pointed to the increase in the income tax threshold.
