The Police Corporal implicated in the robbery of a woman in Cedar Valley, St. Thomas nearly two months ago was granted bail in the sum of $1 million at his last appearance in the parish court.

Corporal Glenville Henry is charged with robbery with aggravation, possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and possession of criminal property.

He is to return to court on July 2.

As part of his bail condition, a stop order was put in place and he is to surrender his travel documents.

During his bail application on June 2, attorney Hensley Williams told the court that his client was pursuing suspects in the robbery when he came into contact with his colleagues from Llandewey Police Station who were also searching for the perpetrators.

Mr. Williams further stated that Corporal Henry arranged with one of his sources for the stolen money and firearm used in the robbery to be handed over to the police.

It was reported that on April 11, a woman was robbed of more than $900,000 in the Cedar Valley square.

Information led the police to a house in Botany Bay, St. Thomas where a man was detained.

An illegal firearm and a portion of the stolen money were seized.
