Residents of Flamstead Gardens in St. James have blocked roads in the community.

They say the roads are in need of urgent repair.

Transport operators have also withdrawn their service to participate in the protest.

A resident, Dionne Smith, told RJR News that the roads have been in disrepair for more than two years.

"There is a area of the road, it's like a total pond; you cannot pass. Rain fall (and) it's hard to get vehicle to come back and forth," she said.

The residents are urging authorities to address the road conditions in the community.
