Petroleum marketing company RUBiS has advised its dealers that it will engage them individually with regards to their contracts.
This follows a statement from the Jamaica Gasoline Retailers Association (JGRA) that all is not well between RUBiS and its dealers over provisions in their contracts.
The JGRA last week warned that the issue could result in disruptions in the petroleum retail trade.
A statement from RUBiS said its relationship with each dealer is specific, adding that the arrangement is private and confidential.
It explained that contracts for the operation of RUBiS service stations relate purely to private commercial arrangements and are not the subject of an employer/employee relationship.
