A section of the Rio Nuevo to Lambkin Hill roadway in St Mary will be closed to vehicular traffic starting today, to facilitate repairs.
The National Works Agency says the closure, located near 'Bruk-Weh,' will begin at 10:00 a.m., and is expected to last until Friday, when the road will be partially re-opened
Stephen Shaw, Cmmunication Manager at the NWA, says the roadway failure was caused by earth movement.
Repairs will involve removing the damaged section and replacing it with approved material.
Motorists are advised to use the Gayle to Frankfurt roadway via Three Hill to Prospect during the closure.
The NWA is urging drivers to exercise caution in the construction zone and follow the instructions of flag persons and warning signs.
