Senior cop highlights roles of forensics, modern technology in cracking recent murder case

Assistant Commissioner Michael Phipps, Commanding Officer for the Area Four Police  is crediting the use of technology and forensics in the breakthrough in the case of murdered Digicel employee Kevin Walker 
 
The body of the 43 year-old was discovered in a barrel along Industrial Terrace in Kingston on February 3.
 
Three women are facing multiple charges in relation to the death of Mr Walker.  
 
Those charged have been identified as 30 year-old Anita Vanzie, 29 year-old Shaday Bennett and Joanna Williams, 36, all of Kingston addresses.
 
They have been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, simple larceny, being a part of a criminal organization, providing benefit to a criminal organization, misprision of felony, accessory before the fact, accessory after the fact, and preventing the lawful burial of a corpse.
 
Assistant Commissioner Phipps praised the investigators who he said worked tirelessly to connect the dots in the case.
 
He added that other suspects are being sought in connection with the murder of Mr Walker.
