A man who was listed as the St. Ann police's most wanted fugitive, was fatally shot on Monday morning during a reported confrontation with the police.
He has been identified as Clifton Brown, otherwise called 'Packy' of Bamboo in St. Ann.
The police reported that about 5 a.m., they conducted a targeted operation in White River in search of Brown.
He was reportedly cornered in a one bedroom house and was shot during a confrontation with the police.
The police say they seized a semi-automatic pistol loaded with 13 rounds from the suspect.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the incident.
Some 186 people have been fatally shot during reported confrontations with the police since the start of the year.
