St. Kitts and Nevis introducing new high-technology passports

St. Kitts and Nevis is rolling out new passports as part of its fourth Generation Border Management System upgrade.
 
The Ministry of National Security said the new passports are machine-readable and incorporate high-technology features designed to enhance security and streamline border management processes.
 
The twin island federation says as part of this significant upgrade there will be a new passport application form
 
No new applications for passports will be processed before Monday except in cases of emergency.
 
The government has stated that its confident that the new system will provide more secure and efficient travel documentation.
 
The St. Kitts and Nevis passport is ranked 23rd on Henley and Partners' Global Passport Index with visa free/visa on arrival access to 157 countries including the European Union and United Kingdom.
