St. Kitts and Nevis PM Dr. Terrance Drew reportedly suffered stroke

St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew is reportedly recovering after suffering a stroke and receiving treatment in Florida.

Initially he was taken to Martinique on Monday for treatment.

Martinique La Première reports that Dr. Drew was admitted to the intensive care unit at the University Hospital of Martinique on Monday evening after experiencing headaches and nausea.

He was reportedly placed under observation and treated by an intensive-care team led by Professor Dabor Resière.

His condition subsequently stabilised, and the report says he is not expected to suffer any lasting effects.

Dr. Drew was airlifted from the University Hospital of Martinique to the Baptist Hospital Miami for a complete check-up.

However, neither the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis nor Dr. Drew's medical team has publicly confirmed that he suffered a stroke.
