Barbara Gayle
The suspect held in connection with the murder of retired journalist Barbara Gayle has been charged.
Travis Ellis, a resident of Gregory Park, was charged for the murder on Tuesday afternoon by the Greater Portmore Criminal Investigations Branch.
Ms. Gayle was found murdered at her Caymanas Country Club Estate residence in St. Catherine last week.
She sustained multiple stab wounds.
It is alleged that Ellis attacked her at home after engaging her in a conversation.
Ms. Gayle's motor vehicle which was stolen by the suspect was found a day after the attack along the Dyke Road in Portmore, St. Catherine.
Ellis was arrested by the police while hiding in bushes in Grange Lane, St. Catherine.
