The man accused of killing his girlfriend, 44 year old Cameka Haley, in Charles Town St Ann is in hospital under police guard.
Investigators says Ms Haley, an attendant at St. Ann's Bay Hospital, was found dead inside her home at Charles Town in the parish Saturday morning.
Her body was found under a sheet with blood on her night gown.
It's reported that the suspect went to another community in St Ann on Monday afternoon and jumped into a tank in a bid to take his life, but he was removed from the tank by the police and taken to hospital.
As news spread of his admisstance at the hospital, residents from Marley community converged on the hospital compound in a bid to gain access to the suspect.
The police were called in to quell the disturbance.
