The police have charged a taxi operator in relation to the abduction and sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl in Effortville, Clarendon on November 1.
He is 48-year-old Marcus Blythe of Effortville.
Blythe was charged with kidnapping, unlawful detention and five counts of indecent assault after a question and answer session in the presence of his attorney.
The police say swift action by officers assigned to the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (C-TOC) and the May Pen Police Station led to the rescue of the teenage at the suspect's home on Sunday, November 2.
Reports said that the teen went to Blythe's home to collect items. However, she was held against her will and assaulted.
The police were alerted and carried out an operation at the home where the girl was found.
Blythe was taken into custody.
His court date is being finalised.
