Taxi operator shot dead during dispute near KPH

The Kingston Western Police are probing the fatal shooting of a taxi operator by a licensed firearm holder near Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) on Monday morning.

The deceased is 46-year-old Carlo Ellis, otherwise called 'Fowley', of a Fourth Street, Kingston 12 address.

It is reported at about 10:30 a.m., Ellis and the licensed firearm holder, who are both taxi operators, had a dispute along Princess Street in the vicinity of North Street Primary School.

The licensed firearm holder was sitting in his car when he was approached by Ellis.

An argument developed between them, during which Ellis reportedly attacked the other operator by punching him repeatedly in the face.

It is reported that Ellis had issued threats to the licensed firearm holder, accusing him of picking up his passenger at the nearby KPH.
