The Area Four Police have listed three male suspects as wanted in the murders of two police constables at 83 Lane off Waltham Park Road in St. Andrew on Thursday evening.
They are 20-year-old Junior Brown, of 13 Seaward Drive, 20-year-old Macarius Munroe, otherwise called 'Mackie' of 48 Ricketts Crescent, and a 17-year-old of a Waltham Park Road address.
Assistant Commissioner Michael Phipps, head of the Area Four Police, said the suspects should report to the police by 6 p.m. Friday.
"We are indeed saddened by the killing of our two police officers in the community of 83 Lane. Of course, the JCF response will be very swift and it will be decisive. We deem these men wanted in connection for the double murder of those officers, constable Jemarey Gordon and Charles Stewart, both officers who gave tremendous service to the country," he said.
Constable Charles Stewart, who was attached to the Spanish Town Police and Constable Jemarey Gordon, attached to the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (C-TOC), were killed about 7:40 p.m. outside their business place.
The police say the constables were engaged in a conversation with the three suspects about them parking stolen motor vehicles in front of the premises when an altercation ensued.
During the argument, it is alleged that Munroe pulled a firearm and fired several shots at the officers, hitting them in their upper body.
The suspects fled the scene on foot.
The police officers were assisted to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The police say the suspects, who are members of the Dust City Gang, are also part of a car stealing ring operating within the Corporate Area.
