A 14-year-old girl is dead after she was sexually assaulted and beaten with a hammer at Palm Grove Court Apartment complex along Spanish Town Road, St. Andrew on Thursday.
She has been identified as Price Johnson, a student of Haile Salassie High School.
The police are searching for a suspect in the brutal attack.
It's reported that around 2:30 p.m., the teen girl was alone at home when a man forcefully entered the apartment before sexually assaulting and beating her.
The girl was rushed to hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.
The suspect is believed to be mentally ill.
The girl's mother Eugene Wade believes her daughter was asleep when she was attacked.
