Three men fatally shot by police in Manchester

 
Three men were fatally shot during a reported confrontation with the police in Porus, Manchester on Monday afternoon. 
 
Two illegal firearms, a .38 pistol and a shotgun were reportedly seized. 
 
It is reported that about 12:42 p.m., the police were conducting an operation in the community of St. Toolis when they were confronted by armed men. 
 
During the reported confrontation, the three men were fatally shot and the firearms seized. 
 
Hugh Faulkner, head of the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), said a team was dispatched to the scene. 
 
INDECOM says 11 police fatal shootings have been recorded so far in the new year.
