The US Department of State on Wednesday announced a major reorganisation of immigration visa processing for Haitian nationals.
The department says applications for legal permanent residence filed by Haitians will no longer be processed in the country, but at the US embassy in Nassau, Bahamas.
The decision was made amid worsening security crises in Haiti and restrictions on the operations at the US embassy there.
