Another meeting is to be arranged between the Government and Administrative, Technical, and Ancillary staff at the University of Technology, Jamaica to resolve issues relating to payment of retroactive salaries.
The workers stayed off the job on Tuesday to register their displeasure with a proposed timeline for retroactive salary payments under the Compensation Review Programme.
But their union instructed them to return to work on Wednesday following a meeting involving the union, campus administration, and the Ministry of Labour.
Janet Grayson, President of the University of Technology Administrative Staff Association, told Radio Jamaica News that workers remain on edge, however, even as they await another meeting.
Grayson said her members are adamant that 50 per cent of retroactive salaries must be paid in March 2025 and the remainder in May 2025.
