A vehicle with public health inspectors from Manchester was reportedly stoned on Tuesday night in Alligator Pond.

The team has been visiting flooded areas in the community to carry out vector control activities.

Chief Public Health Inspector for Manchester Charmaine Palmer Cross told Radio Jamaica News that the matter was reported to the police.

“What we did last night, we actually communicated with the police regarding the missiles that were thrown at our vehicles and the police will be going back in the areas today just to make some general announcement and to remind persons of the consequences that could occur as a result of the action that they took last night. And so, we will be going back tonight, as a matter of fact, right now as we speak, two teams are gone back into the area to do some more assessment and continue with the larvicidal activities, which includes the oiling of these areas," she revealed.

Mrs Palmer Cross said the vector control activities will continue for the rest of the week.
