A 63-year-old Westmoreland farmer has been charged with murder in connection with the killing of another man whose body was discovered with chop wounds in Mooreland Hill last month.
Charged is Glenroy Campbell, also called 'Maas Ron' of Treve Road, Mango Hall district.
He is accused of killing 60-year-old Wayne Robinson, also known as 'Rub Rub', of Old Road, Mooreland Hill.
According to the police, Robinson was last seen alive about 10:30 p.m. on October 9.
The following morning, residents found his body behind his house and alerted the police.
He had multiple chop wounds to the neck and head.
The scene was processed and the body was later removed to the morgue pending a post-mortem.
Following an investigation by the police, Campbell was identified as the primary suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was taken into custody on November 27 during a police operation at his home.
Police say he was formally charged of following a recorded statement implicating him.
A court date is being finalised.
