The St Catherine woman who was held in the company of one of nine escapees from the Constant Spring police lock-up, was remanded until September 2 when she appeared in the parish court on Tursday.
Jay-Ann 'Shamara' Holmes appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court on a charge of harbouring a fugitive. This after her boyfriend, Talik Chambers, was recaptured in her company.
The court was told that the accused was charged with harbouring a fugitive under the name Shamara Holmes, but investigations revealed that her registered name is Jay-Ann Holmes.
The clerk of court, in objecting to bail, argued that she associates with persons of questionable character and giving a wrong name suggests she is a flight risk.
But, applying for bail, her attorney Denise Hinson said her client gave her nickname Shamara but did not intend to mislead the police.
The court was also told that Holmes, who has a nine month-old child for Chambers, said she was not aware that he had escaped police custody.
It's reported that on August 20, the 21 year-old accused was held in the company of Chambers who had escaped from the Constant Spring police lockup.
All nine escapees are back in custody.
