Bajan activist calls for harsher road penalties

The Barbados Road Safety Association, is calling for harsher penalties for those who cause road traffic accidents.

President of the Association, Sharmane Roland-Bowen, said too many people were injured or killed in road accidents on the small island nation.

She says people who cause death on the roads or have proven unfit to drive should lose their license for a minimum of five years and should have to complete a traffic offenders course in line with defensive driving techniques
