Guyana is the only CARICOM country that has been recognized as champions of climate transparency.
The United Nations Climate Change Executive Secretary Simon Stiell says Guyana is among nine countries given the honour after submitting their Biennial Transparency Reports.
He told the ongoing United Nations Climate Change Conference that apart from Guyana, the other countries are Andorra, Panama, Japan, Spain, Türkey, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands and Singapore.
Mr Stiell says countries have until the end of the year to submit their BTRs, and the nine countries that have done so already have set an example for others to follow.
